I had a Christmas party with my family on Christmas Eve! We bought chicken from a shop called "Torikan" in Gosen City. It was so delicious!

This week, the dramas I'd been watching came to end.
On Sunday, the historical drama 'Berabou' and the Sunday theater drama 'Royal Family' reached their final episodes.
Berabou is a drama centered on the Tsutaya Zyuzaburo, who lived through the Tanuma era and into the era of Matsudaira Sadanobu. It was interesting and also served as a good study of Japanese history.

Royal Family is a drama about horse racing, and I learned about the horse racing, which I knew nothing about. I used to watch famous races like the Arima Kinen with excitement in front of the television!

On Thursday, the drama 'Emergency Interrogation Room (Kinkyu torishirabesitsu)' reached final episode. I 'd been watching this drama since the first series, so it was rather sad to see this episode mark the end of the drama series. But this drama has made me even more excited because the film is coming out next week!

This Tuesday's afternoon lecture was canceled, so class ended in the morning!
I went straight home after lecture I cleaned the house more thoroughly than usual and worked on my assignment.
I took out a novel I hadn't read in a long time and started reading it. I've only read the beginning so far, but it's really interesting and I can't wait to see what happens next!

A special lecture was held at the university last Wednesday.
I would like to write about what I felt during this special lecture.
Through the special lecture, I learned about the current state of Tokyo's Kabuki Cho district and the Toyoko kids' aspects not covered in the news.

I used to think that only organizations like NPOs and NGOs were providing support, but I learned for the first time that there are other organizations offering aid as well. I also learned for the first time that they provide support in ways other than food, such as giving out hand warmers during the winter, which shows how carefully these groups consider the kids' daily needs and respond with genuine care. This made me realized that even small acts of kindness can have a meaningful impact on someone's life.
The mother of the person who gave the special lecture had children and raised them while she was still a student. When I heard that, I thought it's only my imagination that she must have faced a lot of difficult with money and student life. I don't personally know anyone like that, so I can only imagine the struggles from what I see in TV dramas, but I don't think giving birth while still a student is a bad thing, and that's precisely why I believe support systems need to be in place.
From this lecture, I realized that what supports my heart is something helps guide me in a positive direction. For her, the bracelet was something that supported her actions and gave her courage.
Even though I have something like an emotional support, I don't have the courage to take action, so I really admire her and wish that, with the help of my own support. I thought I would like to look into volunteer work I can do for others and take actions, even in a small way.
